Green Bay — With the third pick in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, the New York Giants selected Defensive End Abdul Carter.

The Giants were aiming to take a QB in the first round, but after a failed trade to the first pick with the Titans, they end up taking Carter, which is a smart pick for Big Blue.

Carter played for Penn State winning the Nagurski-Woodson Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year award in 2024 unanimously.

During his pre-draft press conference, GM Joe Schoen spoke about the possiblity of selecting Carter, saying:

(SNY Giants):

“He’s a versatile player. He’s young, just 21 years old, and an exciting player to watch. Yeah, you can’t have enough pass rushers.”

Now, Abdul Carter becomes a reality for Giants and Giants fans who can see brighter skies ahead as Carter will join a defense that already has Kayvon Thibodeaux, Dexter Lawrence and Brian Burnes.

Welcome to Big Blue!
