NEW YORK — Yankees are acquiring OF Austin Slater from the White Sox, sources tell SIB.

In 74 plate appearances against left-handed pitching in 2025, Slater delivered a powerful performance: .273/.351/.545 with 5 home runs, 8 RBI and an OPS near .900. His Statcast profile (season‑wide) further emphasizes his impact: average exit velocity around 92 mph, nearly half of his batted balls classified as ‘hard‑hit’, and a barrel rate over 14 percent.

Slater gives the Yankees more options off the bench as a platoon bat against left-handed pitching and as a pinch-hitter late in the game.

While bolstering the bench is great, the Yankees need to go get some pitching.

RHP Gage Ziehl (Single-A) sent to the White Sox.

More information to come.
