Cashman and Boone provide information and updates on Carlos Rodon, Anthony Volpe, Aaron Judge, Gerrit Cole and Clarke Schmidt

THE BRONX, NY — Brian Cashman and Aaron Boone addressed the media on Thursday afternoon at their now sixteenth-annual post-mortem press conference, and provide some injury updates to players heading into the offseason.
Carlos Rodon
Aaron Boone told the media on Thursday that Carlos Rodon underwent surgery on Wednesday to clean up lose bodies in his shoulder and shave some bone spurs. Boone said that Rodon is in an eight-week no throw spell following the surgury and will have a late start to the season. He is slated to begin his ramp up in December.
Anthony Volpe
Aaron Boone confirmed the report that Volpe underwent shoulder surgery on Tuesday. Brian Cashman said that once the surgery began, they found more damage than what the initial MRI revealed. Volpe has entered a four-week no swing and a six-week no dive recovery. Volpe will begin the season on the IL.
Yankees Shortstop Undergoes Surgery
Aaron Judge
To the relif of everyone in Yankee Universe, Aaron Boone confirmed that the soon-to-be AL MVP will not need to ungergo surgury this offseason. Judge sustained a strained flexor tendon in July and the fear was that Judge would need Tommy John Surgury, but that is not the case. Boone said that he expects Judge to be a full go in Spring Training in the lineup and in Right Field.
Gerrit Cole
Cole is on track rehabbing from his Tommy John Surgery last March, according to Boone. Cole is on track to face live hitters in Spring Training. Boone added that Gerrit Cole’s return to the big leauge mound should not be long after Opening Day.
Clarke Schmidt
Aaron Boone said that Schmidt is doing well 14 weeks post oporation. Schmidt will be a factor for the Yankees in the second half of the season.
