CHICAGO, IL — They did it again. The Giants collapsed in the fourth quarter again. De Ja Vu, this time a 10-point lead. They lose 24-20 and drop to 2-8. They are 0-4 in games where they lead by 10 points on the road this season.

Jaxson Dart was leading the Giants to a nice win against the Bears, before going down with a concussion at the end of the third quarter. That effectively ended the game, since Russell Wilson and the Giants offense could not get anything going after the field goal on the drive Dart started.

Dart did a lot of good for the Giants today. scoring two rushing touchdowns. But, with Dart now out with an apparent concussion, what will the Giants do next week? Russell Wilson was not good for the Giants, at all today, and looked overmatched the fourth quarter.

“We’ll see.” Daboll said when talking about next weeks QB decision. “Right now, we just had a tough one here. I’ll take a look at everything.”

The Giants defense, lead by Shane Bowen was horrific in the fourth quarter once again. The FOX broadcast pointed out after the game winning touchdown that The Giants had surrendered 105 points in the fourth quarter this season, the most in the NFL.

“I believe in the guys we have, people in the room, coaches and players. Lost another tough one. So got to start doing it.” Daboll said. “Having next play mentality. I thought (Giants Defensive Coordinator) Shane (Bowen) tried to mix it a number of times these last couple drives; play zone, pressure, play man. The two plays that Caleb got out were man. There was a number of plays. We had to punt. That gave them a short field. There was a number of plays. It wasn’t just one thing, which is usually is.”

The Giants defense was not great the entire game, but was helped out by the Bears dropping passes left and right. The bad defense came up when Caleb Williams and The Bears found their rhythm in the fourth quarter — which seems to happen often against the Giants.

The downward spiral for the Giants continue, and now the question is if Brian Daboll keeps his job or not. My take: it’s time to move on.
